Featuring simple massing with corresponding material expression, the Ballard Townhomes uses two tones of wood cladding to offset horizontal volumes, visible from the street. Lighter wood highlights unit entry at street level while dark wood volumes are raised above the street to provide a strong contrast to the other siding materials. Punches of glass and infill panel break down the wood even further. The remaining volumes are primarily vertical and are clad in painted fiber cement board panels cut to be two feet in width to join the wood clad volumes in creating texture and visual interest to the project.
